Lucrezia Pigato overwhelmed Sara Garakani 6-0, 6-1 in Caldas da Rainha, dropping just one game while never facing a break point across the match. Pigato held all five of her service games, converted five of her break chances and won 44 points to Garakani's 17.
The first set was a whitewash: Pigato broke in the opening game for 0-1, again for 0-3 and once more for 0-5, reeling off all six games. She broke early in the second as well, at 0-1 and 0-3, and although Garakani finally got on the board, Pigato closed it out with a break at 1-6.
