Jordan Griffin put Philadelphia ahead in the ninth minute and Myles Morgan levelled on 15. Kellan LeBlanc restored the lead on 27, Cristiano Oliveira made it 2-2 in first-half stoppage time, and LeBlanc struck again in the 45th minute to make it 3-2 at half-time. Makai Wells was sent off on the stroke of half-time after a second booking; Gabe Dahlin equalised for New England on 66, but Stas Kornzeniowski settled it with an 84th-minute winner.
Kellan LeBlanc ended with two goals and Stas Kornzeniowski both assisted and scored, but the underlying numbers told a one-sided story. New England finished with an expected-goals total of 2.83 to 0.79, had 11 shots on target and forced nine saves from Philadelphia's goalkeeper, yet could not turn dominance into victory.
