Melbourne Mustangs cruised to a 6-0 regulation win over Perth Thunder, seized control with a three-goal first period and never looked back. The visitors dictated the game from the opening minutes and kept the pressure on throughout.
After jumping ahead 3-0 in the first, Melbourne added a single goal in the second to take a 4-0 lead through 40 minutes. Two more in the third closed out the 6-0 final, while Perth was held off the board in every period.
The shutout was the standout number: Perth managed nothing on the scoreboard across all three frames, and Melbourne scored in each period. That first-period burst gave the Mustangs a cushion they never relinquished, making for a wire-to-wire road win.
