Racing de Montevideo and Peñarol shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Centenario. Racing took the lead in the first half, but Peñarol struck back after the break to earn a share of the spoils.
Álex Vázquez put Racing ahead just past the half-hour mark, finishing from close range on 31 minutes. Peñarol pushed for an equaliser and finally got it on 74 minutes when Abel Hernández turned in a loose ball to level the scores.
The match saw seven yellow cards issued, with bookings for Maximiliano Olivera, Nicolás Fernández, Leandro Umpiérrez, Elias Bentancor, Rodrigo Dudok, Diego Cheuquepal and Martín Ferreira. Neither side could find a winner in the final stages.
