Pelicans held off JYP Jyvaskyla 2-1 in regulation, and they did it by never trailing. A scoreless third period turned a one-goal cushion into two points.
The home side took a 1-0 lead through the first period, then traded goals in the second to sit 2-1 at the second intermission. That middle frame was the turning point only in the sense that JYP answered but couldn't get even, and the third produced nothing for either side.
