Oulun Kärpät U20 handled Lukko 5-1 in regulation, and the middle period did all of the work. A 1-1 first turned into a 4-1 lead on three unanswered goals, and Lukko never found a response.
The teams traded early strikes inside the opening six minutes to leave it level after 20. Kärpät then scored at 39, 34 and 33 minutes to run the score to 4-1 by the second intermission, the turning point of the night, before capping it at 59 minutes for 5-1.
The headline number is the second period: 3-0 on the scoreboard, and Lukko shut out over the final 40 minutes after their lone goal at six minutes. Scorers were not listed, so the credit stays collective.
