Rubin Kazan are through in the Russian Cup after a 1-1 draw with Orenburg, winning the penalty shootout 4-2. Jacques Siwe's early goal put them ahead, but they could not hold on.
Siwe struck in the 12th minute to give Rubin Kazan the lead. Andrey Kasadzhikov equalised for Orenburg in the 54th minute, and with no further goals the tie went to penalties, where Rubin won 4-2.
The only booking of the match came in the 30th minute, when Mikhail Pykhcheev was shown a yellow card. With no box score to separate the sides, the shootout proved decisive.
