AS Monaco beat Olympique de Marseille 2-0 in Ligue 1, with two goals from Paris Brunner deciding the game. Marseille had plenty of the ball, but Monaco were the sharper side in front of goal and made their chances count.
Brunner opened the scoring in the 13th minute from Aleksandr Golovin's assist, then doubled the lead in the 53rd minute after Eric Dier set him up. Marseille could not respond, and four yellow cards were shown across the match, to Denis Zakaria, Lamine Camara, Flávio Nazinho and Lukáš Hrádecký.
Brunner was the standout performer, scoring both of Monaco's goals. Marseille dominated possession with 65% and had 13 total shots to Monaco's 11, yet Monaco created three big chances to Marseille's one and converted two of them. It was a victory built on efficiency rather than territorial control.
