Norwich City booked their place in the EFL Cup second round with a 4-1 win over Milton Keynes Dons. They raced into a three-goal lead inside 43 minutes and, though Ryan Wintle pulled one back for MK Dons before the hour, Andre Brooks settled it three minutes later.
Mohamed Toure opened the scoring after one minute from Kenny McLean's assist, then turned provider for Anis Ben Slimane's second in the seventh minute. Ben Chrisene added a third from Andre Brooks' assist in the 43rd, Wintle gave MK Dons brief hope in the 56th, and Brooks restored Norwich's three-goal cushion in the 59th.
The stats underlined Norwich's control: 65% possession and 25 shots to MK Dons' eight. Toure was central to the early surge, and Norwich converted three of their seven big chances while MK Dons failed to take any of their three.
