Gillingham and Northampton Town shared a 1-1 draw in League Two. Gillingham made the brighter start and took the lead through Conor McManus, but Northampton hit back before half-time. Neither side could force a winner after the break.
McManus scored from Nick Freeman's assist in the seventh minute to put Gillingham 1-0 up. Northampton levelled in the 36th minute when Logan Briggs found the net. The second half brought no further goals, with six bookings punctuating a tight, scrappy contest.
Gillingham shaded the stats, with 54% possession, ten shots to Northampton's five and two efforts on target to their one. Northampton's goalkeeper made two saves to keep his side in it, while Gillingham's was not tested. For all their control, the home side had to settle for a point.
