Newport County produced a clinical display to beat Rochdale 3-0 in League Two. Kyle Cameron, Shaquille Gwengwe and Yahya Bamba got the goals at Rodney Parade. Rochdale's task grew harder when Bryant Akono Bilongo was sent off after 66 minutes.
Cameron opened the scoring in the 18th minute, and Gwengwe doubled Newport's lead ten minutes before the break. Bamba wrapped up the win with a third goal in the 90th minute. Bilongo, booked in the 42nd minute, was sent off for a second yellow in the 66th.
The numbers underline how effective Newport were without dominating the ball. They had 32% possession but registered 12 shots, six on target, and created three big chances. Rochdale, despite 68% of the ball and 396 accurate passes, failed to manage a single shot on target.
