The first set swung early when Boisson broke, but Navarro levelled at 3-3 and took the tiebreak. Navarro then broke for 2-1 in the second set, only for Boisson to reply at 5-5 and win the tiebreak. In the third, Boisson moved ahead 2-1, but Navarro answered immediately at 2-2 before striking again at 5-3 to close it out.
Boisson was the bigger hitter, finishing with 15 aces and 36 winners to Navarro's 10 and 28. Navarro, however, saved 6 of 9 break points and won 43 return points to Boisson's 38, with 64% success on second-serve returns proving the difference.
