Poljičak M. edged Muller A. 7-6, 6-7, 7-5 in the San Marino Men Singles, taking a three-setter that stayed tight from start to finish. The winner leaned on a dominant first serve — 16 aces and 86% of first-serve points — while Muller won the overall point count 117-107.
Poljičak broke in game 5 of the opener, only for Muller to hit back at 5-5; Poljičak then took the tiebreak. Muller broke in game 1 of the second set, Poljičak replied immediately, and Muller levelled by winning that tiebreak. In the decider, the only break came in game 11, when Poljičak moved ahead 6-5 and served out the match.
Poljičak was especially sharp in the deciding set, winning all 11 points on his first serve and firing five aces without a double fault. Muller saved four of six break points overall, but the one break in the final set proved decisive.
