Linda Nosková outlasted Karolína Muchová 2-6, 7-5, 3-6 to reach the second round at Wimbledon. The Czech teenager dominated the first and third sets with aggressive returns, converting four of her seven break points overall, while Muchová could only manage two breaks across the match.
Nosková broke twice in the opening set, at 1-3 and 2-6, rolling to a one-set lead. Muchová turned the second set around after saving two break points and then breaking Nosková to love at 4-5, then again at 6-5 to force a decider. In the third set, Nosková struck immediately, breaking in the second game (0-2) and never faced a break point, closing out the match.
Nosková saved an impressive 13 of 15 break points (86%), compared to Muchová's 9 of 13 (69%), and struck nine aces to Muchová's six. She also won 73% of points on her first serve (54/74) against Muchová's 63% (41/65), proving clutch under pressure.
