MŠK Žilina came from behind to beat HNK Hajduk Split 2-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League qualifier. The Slovak side trailed at half-time but rallied in the second half, snatching a last-minute winner through Dario Melnjak.
Hajduk took the lead just before the break when Alec Van Hoorenbeeck scored from Šimun Hrgović's assist in the 45th minute. Žilina drew level eight minutes after the restart through Marko Roginic, who converted after Frantisek Kosa set him up. The home side kept pushing and finally got their reward in the 90th minute when Dario Melnjak fired home to seal the win.
Žilina showed their resilience to overturn the deficit, while Hajduk will rue not holding on. The match saw four yellow cards, with Šimun Hrgović and Alec Van Hoorenbeeck both booked in the first half, followed by Xavier Adang and Andrei Florea later on.
