The opener was a back-and-forth affair: Moutet broke in games five and seven, but Sweeny replied in games eight and ten before taking the tie-break. In the second set Sweeny broke for 3-2, was pegged back at 4-4, then broke again for 5-4 and closed it out 6-4. He carried that momentum into the third set, breaking in games one and three to lead 3-0.
Sweeny's second serve was the standout: he won 56% of those points to Moutet's 38%, finishing with 55 service points won to 48. Sweeny's steadiness on the big points decided it.
