Mensik broke early in the first set at 1-2 and again at 2-5 to claim it 6-2. The second set featured no breaks and went to a tiebreak, where Mensik prevailed 7-6 to force a decider. In the third set, the only break came at 3-5, with Mensik serving out the match.
Mensik served five aces and saved all three break points he faced in the first set, while Svajda failed to convert any of his break opportunities. Despite a strong second-set fight, Svajda could not find a break when needed.
