Mena F. defeated Roca Batalla O. 6-4, 6-4 at the Porto Men Singles. The key was his resilience on serve: he saved five of six break points across the match and converted three of his own, while Roca Batalla managed only one return break.
Mena took the opening set despite being tested, breaking in the first game, then replying immediately after Roca Batalla levelled at 4-4 with a break of his own to win it 6-4. The second set followed a cleaner path: his break in the third game was the only one, and he served it out without facing a break point.
The decisive number came behind Mena's first delivery: he won 79% of first-serve points (23/29), compared with Roca Batalla's 62% (31/50), even though Roca Batalla put a far higher percentage of first serves in play. That edge on serve carried him through both sets.
