Elena Malõgina beat Gabriela Pereira De Aguiar 6-0, 6-2 at the WTA 125K event in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, controlling the match from the return. She broke six times in all and won 28 receiving points to her opponent's 12.
The first set was one-way traffic: breaks in games two, four and six carried Malõgina to 2-0, 4-0 and 6-0, with Pereira De Aguiar saving only one of four break points and serving four double faults. The Brazilian did hit back early in the second, breaking for 0-1 and again at 3-2, but Malõgina answered immediately each time, breaking back for 1-1, moving to 3-1 and 4-2 before closing it out at 6-2.
The cleanest number belongs to the serve ledger: Pereira De Aguiar did not hold once, winning zero of her five service games, while Malõgina held four of six and won 67% of her first-serve points to her opponent's 32%.
