Skellefteå AIK handled Luleå Hockey 6-1 in regulation, and the game was effectively settled before the first intermission. Three goals in the opening period gave the hosts a 3-0 cushion they never had to defend under pressure.
Jonathan Pudas opened it in the 12th minute off a Jonathan Johnson feed, Mikkel Aagaard made it 2-0 in the 15th with Rickard Hugg assisting, and Par Lindholm's unassisted goal on the 20th closed the period at 3-0. Valtteri Puustinen answered a minute later for Luleå, assisted by Isac Hedqvist, but Pontus Johansson restored the three-goal margin at 39 minutes for 4-1, and that was the turning point Luleå never recovered from.
Aagaard's two-goal night was the headline number, his second coming in the 46th off Oscar Lindberg after Hudson Fasching had made it 5-1 in the 44th. Lindholm finished with a goal and an assist; Johansson also had a goal and a helper on Fasching's marker.
