Almaz Cherepovets came from behind to beat Loko Yaroslavl 3-2 in regulation, scoring twice in the third period after trailing through 40 minutes. The home side won the game without needing overtime, flipping a 1-2 deficit into a 3-2 final.
Loko opened the scoring in the second minute and led 0-1 after the first. Almaz answered in the 26th minute, but Loko restored the two-goal cushion at 34 for a 1-2 lead after two. The third belonged to Cherepovets: goals in the 41st and the 54th minute completed the turnaround.
The number that matters is the period split: 2-0 to Almaz in the third, the only frame either side won outright. Loko's two goals both came in the opening 34 minutes, and they were shut out over the final 20.
