Cerro snatched a dramatic 2-1 win over Liverpool UY with a stoppage-time goal from Jairo Sebastián Amaro Mello. The visitors had taken a first-half lead but were pegged back before the break, only to find a winner deep into added time.
Agustin Miranda put Cerro ahead in the 21st minute, but Rubén Bentancourt levelled for Liverpool UY right on the stroke of half-time, in the 45th minute. The game looked headed for a draw until Jairo Sebastián Amaro Mello struck in the 90th minute to seal all three points for Cerro.
There were five yellow cards in a scrappy contest, but the decisive moment came from Amaro Mello's late finish. Cerro showed character to recover from conceding an equaliser and grab the win, despite having no clear statistical dominance on the night.
