Lindenwood won 9-6 at home, and the margin traces back to a four-goal second period that turned an even game into a three-goal cushion. Arizona State managed just one in that middle frame and never got closer than two the rest of the way.
The first period was a trade-off, 3-3 after 20 minutes, with neither side able to hold a lead. Lindenwood's 4-1 second put the score at 7-4, and the final period split 2-2 — enough for the Sun Devils to keep it respectable, not enough to threaten.
Fifteen goals in regulation says plenty about how little either goaltender was protected. The decisive number is the second-period differential: plus-three for Lindenwood, and the only period of the night either team won by more than one.
