Sheffield Wednesday took the points at Leyton Orient with a 2-1 win in League One. Callum Slattery gave them an early lead and Jamal Lowe’s second-half strike proved decisive after Joseph Olowu had pulled the hosts level.
Slattery opened the scoring in the 19th minute, but Leyton Orient responded within seven minutes when Olowu equalised from Jaze Kabia’s assist. The game turned in the 66th minute as Lowe restored Wednesday’s advantage, and neither side added another goal after that.
The visitors edged the contest on chances, with 14 shots to Leyton Orient’s 10 and five on target to three, and also held the higher expected-goals figure. Leyton Orient had more possession at 52% but could not turn that into enough clear opportunities.
