Independiente claimed a 3-1 win at Lanús in the Superliga, with Lautaro Millán scoring twice in the opening 47 minutes to put the visitors in charge. Lanús pulled one back but Independiente sealed the result late on.
Millán opened the scoring in the 37th minute from Santiago Montiel's assist and doubled the lead in the 47th minute. Allan Wlk reduced the deficit for Lanús in the 50th minute from Ramiro Carrera's pass, but Maximiliano Gutiérrez made sure of the win in the 90th minute after Matias Abaldo set him up. Ramiro Carrera, Iván Marcone, Gabriel Ávalos and Benjamín Acosta were all booked.
Lanús were the better side for long spells — 52% possession, 20 shots to 14 and an expected-goals edge of 1.87 to 1.16 — but Independiente took their chances ruthlessly. Millán's brace was the difference.
