Belmont Swansea United beat Lambton Jaffas 2-1 in NPL Northern NSW, scoring inside the first minute and again just after the restart. They then held off a Lambton side that saw far more of the ball.
Belmont opened the scoring in the first minute and doubled their lead at the start of the second half. Lambton pulled one back six minutes later, but could not find an equaliser despite sustained pressure.
Lambton dominated possession with 66% and had nine shots in total to Belmont's four. Yet Belmont's two shots on target proved decisive, as they took their chances and defended the lead on a day when they were outplayed for long spells.
