Dusan Lajovic saw off Henrique Rocha 6-4, 6-4 in Seville, converting three of his four break points while Rocha managed just one from five. Lajovic also saved three of the four break points he faced, a decisive gap on the biggest points.
The only break of the first set came in game five, Lajovic moving ahead from 2-3, and he backed it up by saving both break points he faced in the set. The second set swung twice early: Lajovic broke in game three at 1-2, Rocha struck straight back at 2-2, and then Lajovic broke again in game seven from 3-4 to settle the match.
The numbers behind it: Lajovic won 12 of 18 second-serve points (67%) and took 40 of his service points to Rocha's 34, finishing 59-50 up in total points. Rocha's second set serving told the story too, just 52% of first serves in (14/27).
