Kym J. defeated Moeller E. 6-1, 7-6 in the ATP Challenger in Hagen, wrapping up the match in straight sets after a dominant opening set and a tight tiebreak in the second. Kym's relentless returning and first-serve accuracy made the difference.
Kym broke in the very first game and again to lead 3-0, and though Moeller pulled one back at 3-1, Kym broke twice more to take the set 6-1. The second set swung wildly: Moeller moved ahead with breaks at 0-1, 0-3, 1-4 and 2-5, but Kym hauled him in, breaking at 5-5 and again at 6-6 after Moeller served for the set at 5-6, then closed it out in the tiebreak.
Kym's serving stood out: he won 81% of points behind his first delivery, struck five aces and made only two double faults, while Moeller had six double faults and won 61% of first-serve points. Overall Kym outpointed Moeller 63-49.
