KuPS blew VPS away with a stunning early blitz, scoring three times in the first half-hour to take complete control of this Veikkausliiga contest. The home side killed the game before VPS could even get a foothold, leaving the visitors with far too much to do after the interval.
Jaime Moreno opened the scoring inside the first minute, converting from Joslyn Luyeye-Lutumba's pass. Just 11 minutes later, Moreno turned provider, setting up Gustav Engvall to make it 2-0. The scoring spree continued in the 29th minute when Luyeye-Lutumba himself got on the scoresheet, assisted by Engvall, to make it 3-0 at the break.
VPS pulled one back in the 63rd minute through Oluwaseyi Ogunniyi, who finished from Jayden Turfkruier's assist, but it was only a consolation. KuPS had done the damage early and saw out the game comfortably, with late bookings for Saku Heiskanen and Akseli Puukko doing little to spoil their afternoon.
