After a 1-1 first period, Krylya took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission, scoring twice in the middle frame. In the third, Red Machine answered with four goals — at 42:00, 47:00, 56:00 and 57:00 — while allowing only Krylya's 46:00 counter, to snatch the game back.
The four-goal third stood out, especially after Red Machine had mustered just two through the first forty minutes. The push from 47:00 to 57:00 produced three straight tallies, putting the game out of reach in regulation.
