Krefeld Pinguine came back from an early deficit to beat the Schwenningen Wild Wings 5-2 in regulation. The Pinguine scored in all three periods and never trailed after the 14th minute.
Kyle Platzer put Schwenningen ahead in the fourth minute off a Haako Hanelt feed, but Adam Payerl tied it at 14 from Mathew Santos and Max Newton made it 2-1 at the horn of the opening frame. Marcel Müller's goal at 30, assisted by Newton, pushed it to 3-1 after two; Thomas Schemitsch answered at 44 to cut it to 3-2 before Santos restored the two-goal cushion at 50 with Davis Vandane assisting, and Krefeld closed out the 5-2 final.
Newton was the swing man: a goal at 20 and the primary helper on Müller's 3-1. Platzer had a hand in both Schwenningen goals — one scored, one assisted — but the Wild Wings never got closer than one after the opening period.
