Marta Kostyuk came from a set down to beat Mirra Andreeva 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 at Cincinnati. The turning point was a flawless second set, in which Kostyuk dropped just five points on serve and broke three times.
Andreeva broke in the opening game and closed out the opener 6-4, but Kostyuk responded with breaks at 2-0, 4-0 and 6-0 to level. In the decider Kostyuk broke for 3-1 and again at 6-2, saving the only break point she faced in the set.
Kostyuk finished with seven aces to Andreeva's one and won all 11 of her service games. Andreeva converted only one of five break chances as Kostyuk took 48 of 72 total points.
