The Florida Everblades erased a three-goal deficit to defeat the Kansas City Mavericks 5-4 in overtime. After falling behind 4-1 through two periods, the Everblades mounted a furious third-period comeback to force extra time.
Kansas City took control in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals to build a 4-1 lead. Florida began its rally early in the third, striking twice in consecutive minutes at 52 and 53, then tied the game at 4-4 in the final minute of regulation.
The Everblades completed the 4-0 run with the overtime winner. The Mavericks’ 3-0 second period was not enough to hold off Florida’s relentless push, as the visitors scored on all three of their third-period chances and added the deciding goal in OT.
