KAC Klagenfurt put the derby away early and won it 6-1 in regulation. Three first-period goals inside the opening 15 minutes gave VSV nothing to chase.
Tobias Sablattnig opened it at 3 on a David Waschnig feed, Waschnig scored himself at 8 off Jesper B. Jensen, and Nick Petersen made it 3-0 at 15 with Simeon Schwinger assisting. Julian Metzler's goal at 22, set up by Elias Jeronimo Wallenta, briefly pulled VSV to 3-1, but Travis St. Denis restored the four-goal cushion at 29 from Raphael Herburger and added another at 36 for 5-1 after two.
St. Denis was the difference with a two-goal night, and Waschnig finished with a goal and an assist. KAC took the third period 1-0 to close out the 6-1 final.
