Jubilo Iwata and Blaublitz Akita shared the points in a 1-1 draw in J.League 2. The home side were ahead inside the opening minute through Ryunosuke Ota, but Blaublitz responded after the hour to level.
Ota struck with barely a minute on the clock to give Jubilo the perfect start. Blaublitz grew into the contest, and Koya Handa equalised on 61 minutes to make it 1-1. The only booking of the afternoon came on 29 minutes, when Hiroto Morooka was shown a yellow card.
Handa's second-half goal was the decisive response, wiping out the advantage Jubilo had held for most of the game. In the end, neither side could find a winner, and the draw reflected a match in which the early goal did not prove enough.
