Francesca Jones defeated A. Ibragimova 6-3, 6-4 at the WTA 125K Palermo, capitalising on four break-point conversions and saving half of the four break points she faced. Jones dictated from the return, winning 46% of first-serve return points and breaking Ibragimova four times.
In the first set, Jones broke in the opening game (1-0) and again at 4-1, but Ibragimova immediately broke back to 4-2. Jones sealed the set with a third break at 6-3. The second set saw Ibragimova break first for 0-1, then Jones levelled at 4-4 with a break before breaking once more at 6-4 to close the match.
Jones converted all four of her break points, while Ibragimova converted only two of four. Jones also won 66% of second-serve return points, compared to Ibragimova's 53%, and served out the match with 64% of first-serve points won.
