The first set was decided by a single break at 5-3, as Jones held her nerve to close it out 6-3. The second set was one-sided: Jones broke in the opening game for 1-0, again at 4-1, and sealed the match with a third break at 6-1, never facing a break point on her own serve.
Jones’s first-serve percentage of 68% and first-serve points won of 71% were key, but the most telling stat was her perfect record on serve — she did not concede a single service game. Bronzetti, by contrast, won only four of seven service games and failed to convert any of her five break points.
