Chaika Nizhny Novgorod shut out JHC Molot 4-0 in Perm, settling it in regulation with a pair of goals in each of the first two periods. The visitors got everything they needed before the second intermission and then simply managed the rest.
Chaika scored at 13 and 17 to lead 0-2 after twenty minutes, and the turning point came immediately out of the first break: goals at 21 and 25 pushed it to 0-4 and took the game out of reach. The third period produced no goals, the only frame Molot did not concede.
