Inter Turku took a commanding two-goal lead in the first half-hour and saw out a 2-0 win over Başakşehir FK in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. The Turkish side had far more of the ball and shot 12 times, but only one effort tested the home goalkeeper, while Inter were ruthlessly efficient in front of goal.
Jasse Tuominen put the hosts ahead in the 18th minute from a Janne-Pekka Laine assist. Just after the interval, Clinton Jephta doubled the lead in the 47th minute, this time set up by Antoin Loic Essomba Bikoula. Laine was later sent off in the 88th minute after receiving a second yellow card, but Inter held on comfortably.
The box score tells the story: Inter had just 41% possession and one corner to Başakşehir's eight, yet they managed seven shots on target to the visitors' one. Goalkeeper saves were 5-1 in favour of Inter, underscoring how thoroughly the Finnish side took their chances while Başakşehir lacked cutting edge.
