Gent and IFK Göteborg shared a 1-1 draw in the Europa Conference League qualifier, with the Swedish side snatching a late equaliser after the hosts had led for over an hour. Matties Volckaert's early strike gave Gent a comfortable start, but Göteborg's persistence paid off five minutes from time.
Volckaert opened the scoring in the 27th minute from Tiago Araújo's assist, putting Gent 1-0 up. The hosts controlled much of the contest without extending their lead, and Saidou Alioum Moubarak levelled for IFK Göteborg in the 85th minute, assisted by Kolbeinn Thordarson, to make it 1-1.
The stats reflect a tight contest: Gent had 51% possession and seven corners to Göteborg's three, while registering four shots on target to the visitors' two. Gent dominated territory and chances, yet Göteborg took one of their few clear openings to earn the draw.
