HC Pustertal took this one 4-2, and the middle period was the lever. Trailing inside the second, the home side answered twice and went to the room ahead 3-2 after 40 minutes.
Markus Lauridsen opened it at 13 on a Gregory Di Tomaso feed before Ziga Mehle tied it at 16, assisted by Miha Bericic, for a 1-1 first. Marly Quince put Olimpija up 2-1 at 27 off Rozle Bohinc, but Gunnarwolfe Fontaine leveled at 29 from Austin Rueschhoff, and Di Tomaso's goal at 40, set up by Gerry Fitzgerald, flipped the lead for good.
Di Tomaso finished with a goal and an assist, the most direct hand in the result. Austin Osmanski's strike at 51, from Alex Ierullo, made it 4-2 and closed out a third period Pustertal won 1-0.
