HK Poprad took a 5-4 overtime decision over HC Slovan Bratislava, surviving a six-goal third period to win it in the extra frame. Neither side could separate through 40 minutes, and the game was settled only after regulation ended 4-4.
Adam Dvorak opened it at 7 with Martin Bodak feeding, and Samuel Bucek answered at 20 to make it 1-1 after one. The middle period produced nothing, then the third broke open: Markus Suchy (Bodak) put Poprad up 2-1 at 43 before Ryan O'Connor and Bucek scored in the same minute for a 3-2 Slovan lead; Adam Cracknell tied it at 46, Ryder Korczak made it 4-3 at 54, and Jakub Urbanek forced overtime at 55.
Bodak was the game's connective piece with two assists on the first and third Poprad goals, while Bucek's pair kept Slovan in front of the scoreboard twice. Poprad scored three times in the third and once in overtime after being shut out in the second.
