HC Skoda Plzen buried Boxers de Bordeaux 10-4 in regulation, and the margin was built almost entirely in the third period. Plzen scored six unanswered-style goals in the final frame after leading just 4-3 through 40 minutes.
Dominik Simon opened it at 17 for a 0-1 lead after one, and the middle period turned into a trade: Luke Santerno at 22, Mikko Petman at 27, Enzo Carry at 29 and again at 33 for a 3-2 Bordeaux edge. Filip Matyas at 38 and Ville Petman at 40 flipped it back to 3-4, and the turning point came quickly after the break, with Igor Merezhko at 44 and Christophe Lalancette and Ville Petman both at 45 pushing it to 3-7.
Ville Petman and Lalancette finished with two goals apiece, Lalancette adding his second at 57. Carry was the lone Bordeaux answer of substance with three, including the 4-8 marker at 57 off a Baptiste Bruche assist.
