Ugra Khanty-Mansiysk took control early and closed out HC AKM Tula 3-1 in regulation at home. Two first-period goals, one at 2:00 and one at 10:00, gave Ugra a lead it never surrendered.
The home side led 2-0 after the opening frame. AKM got on the board at 37:00 in the second to cut the deficit to 2-1 after two periods, but Ugra answered with an insurance goal at 53:00 in the third.
The defining number was Ugra's fast start: two goals inside the first 10 minutes set the tone and forced AKM to chase from behind. The visitors managed only one reply, and Ugra protected its early cushion the rest of the way.
