D. Lajović recovered from a 6-0 first-set defeat to beat L. Harris 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Lexington men's singles. The key was an early break in the deciding set and a clean 3/3 on break points saved in the third.
Harris dominated the opener, breaking three times at 1-0, 3-0 and 5-0. Lajović struck back in the second set, breaking Harris for a 5-3 lead and serving it out. In the decider, Lajović broke in the very first game; Harris saved four of five break points he faced, but Lajović saved all three break points he faced to close out the match.
Harris actually won more total points for the match (81 to 76) and each player hit three aces, but Lajović's return game was the difference: he collected 20 receiver points in the third set alone.
