Hannover 96 twice took the lead against Karlsruher SC but had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Rafael Pinto Pedrosa's late equaliser in the 85th minute earned the visitors a point after Lars Gindorf and Marcel Hartel had put Hannover ahead.
Lars Gindorf opened the scoring for Hannover in the 26th minute, but Shio Fukuda levelled just two minutes later. Marcel Hartel restored the home side's lead in the 38th minute, and that 2-1 scoreline held until Pedrosa struck with five minutes remaining.
Karlsruher had the stronger overall numbers, with 20 shots to Hannover's 12 and four big chances to two, yet they could not find a winner before Pedrosa's late intervention. Hannover's 52% possession and five saves from their goalkeeper helped keep them in front for much of the contest.
