Borussia Dortmund moved through in the DFB Pokal with a 5-0 win at Hamburg-Eimsbütteler. The tie was effectively decided in a 12-minute spell before half-time, when Dortmund scored four times.
Janek Wrede opened the scoring in the 33rd minute. Daniel Svensson doubled the lead three minutes later from Julian Ryerson's assist, and Samuele Inacio struck twice before the break, first from Marcel Sabitzer and then from Ryerson, to make it 4-0. Fábio Silva added the fifth in the 59th minute from Joey Veerman's pass.
Dortmund dominated throughout, finishing with 78% possession and 36 shots to the home side's two, with 12 of those on target. The Hamburg-Eimsbütteler goalkeeper made eight saves to keep the score down, while Dortmund also missed five big chances. Samuele Inacio was the standout performer with his two goals.
