Cîrstea broke in games two and four to open a 4-0 lead in the first set. Grabher pulled back with breaks in games five and seven to trail 3-4, only for Cîrstea to break again in game eight and close out 6-3. In the second set, Cîrstea closed the match with a bagel, breaking Grabher in games one, three and five.
The return game decided the match: Cîrstea won 33 return points to Grabher's 20 and converted six of 13 break chances. Grabher's serve unravelled with seven double faults, while Cîrstea won 71% of points behind her first serve.
