Gorzny S. edged Gojo B. 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 in the Lexington men's singles, clinching the decider in a tense tiebreak after a third set that featured four breaks of serve.
Gorzny took the opener by breaking in game 10 to seal 6-4. Gojo hit back in the second, breaking twice — in game 3 for 1-2 and in game 7 for 2-5 — to level the match. The final set swung repeatedly: Gojo broke in the first game, Gorzny answered in game 4, and Gojo moved ahead 6-5 with a break in game 11, only for Gorzny to break back in game 12 and force a tiebreak.
The decisive moment came when Gorzny broke Gojo's serve as he served for the set at 6-5, levelling at 6-6 before winning the tiebreak. Gorzny's composure in the third set, recovering from breaks in the opening game and at 5-6, proved decisive.
