The opener was decided in the 12th game, where Glinka broke to take it 7-5. Vales came back strongly in the second set, breaking Glinka in the first, third and seventh games for 6-1. Glinka then broke in the opening game of the decider and held from there.
The margin was razor-thin: Vales won 90 points to Glinka's 89. Glinka's 12 aces and 80% first-serve points won, along with 10 saves from 14 break points overall, proved decisive.
